When you sign up for Mikihands Blog, you need to choose a Blog Domain.

A Blog Domain is the unique address name that identifies your blog. It can only be set once during sign-up and cannot be changed later.

Why It Matters

Your Blog Domain is more than just a short piece of text.

It:

  • forms part of your blog URL
  • is recorded by search engines for SEO
  • becomes part of the brand you share with others

It also has another important role:

  • If you do not set a separate Blog name (display), 👉 your Blog Domain will be used as your blog name

In other words, your Blog Domain may also appear to readers and search engines as the default name of your blog.

Basic URL Structure

For regular users who do not use a custom domain, the blog URL is created in the following format:

https://blog.mikihands.com/{blog_domain}/

This URL becomes the main page of your blog.

When Using a Custom Domain

Premium users can connect their own domain.

Example:

https://example.com

In this case:

  • your default Mikihands Blog address
https://blog.mikihands.com/{blog_domain}/
  • will automatically redirect to your custom domain
→ https://example.com

Even when someone visits the default address, they will be redirected to the connected custom domain. This structure is designed with SEO in mind.

Why It Cannot Be Changed

A Blog Domain cannot be changed once it has been set.

This is to:

  • keep search engine indexing stable
  • maintain a consistent URL structure
  • prevent existing links from breaking

How to Choose a Blog Domain

We recommend choosing a name that is:

  • short and easy to remember
  • brand-oriented. Since your personal nickname can be used as your author name, we recommend choosing a name that represents your blog’s brand rather than your own nickname.
  • simple, without special characters or spaces
  • written in lowercase from the beginning, as uppercase letters are converted to lowercase by the server

Examples:

  • awesomeblog
  • technotes
